Testing
Four steps, every unit, no exceptions. The output of each step is published on the listing, not summarised at the bottom of the page.
Every unit is matched to its part number and serial before anything else happens. A carrier whose label does not read is a carrier we do not sell.
Verified part number and serial on record
Every sector of the platter is read, not sampled. A drive that shows a single reallocated sector is pulled from the lot rather than discounted and passed on.
Zero reallocated, pending or uncorrectable sectors
Power-on hours, reallocation count, pending count and temperature are read and compared against what the model should show at its age. The report is kept with the serial.
SMART report attached to the unit, not the lot
Condition is graded honestly — pulled, refurbished, used A/B/C — and every listing shows a photograph of the actual unit, not a stock image of the family.
